Access to support
Where else to get help
TEN FOLD is one door. These are the other doors — apps, organisations and helplines you can use at the same time, and how to actually get through them.
How to get support, in order
- 1
Start with your hospital social worker
Every treatment center has one, and they know which local funds are open this month. Ask your nurse to refer you today — it costs nothing and it is the fastest route to money, rides and lodging.
- 2
Apply to two or three funds at once
Most grants are small, single-purpose and first-come. Applying in parallel — one for rent, one for travel, one for co-pays — works better than waiting on one answer.
- 3
Ask your diagnosis-specific charity
Blood cancer, breast, colorectal and rare cancers each have national organisations with funds reserved for their patients. They are less crowded than general funds.
- 4
Use the app for the practical asks
Post your need in the forum for your cancer type, and check who is already offering time, rides, meals or skills on Get Involved.
- 5
Then submit a TEN FOLD request
One request, one real need, and a short description of what it would change. Every dollar given is matched one-to-one.

Helplines
Have these ready before you apply
Nearly every fund asks for the same paperwork. Keep it in one folder or one phone album and an application takes minutes instead of days.

- — Diagnosis letter or treatment plan from your oncologist
- — Proof of income (payslips, benefits letter or last tax return)
- — The bill or quote you need covered, with the amount
- — Insurance card and any denial letters
